The resort of El Gouna has a fantastic dive location for easy access to over 50 dive sites. For novice divers spectacular coral gardens such as Abu Galaua are perfect for the novice diver because of the shallow waters.
For experienced divers, cruising to sites such as Poseidon Reef and Erg Abu Nugar, divers will appreciate the array of species from tiny iridescent nudibranchs to menacing leopard sharks. There is also drift and wall diving at sites such as Umm Gamar.
Wrecks, The Straits of Gubal is a paradise for wreck diving. Well-known wrecks including the Greek cargo ship 'Giannis D' and a British sailing steamer call 'Carnatic' are easy to navigate and teeming with marine life. The famous 'Thistlegorm' is also accessible by day boat.
